Hello,

I`m new AutoMate user. My company using Automate 6.2.8.0

I would like to ask you wheter it is possible to zip few files from one location, for example:

file1.txt
file1.doc
file1.exe

file2.txt
file2.doc
file2.exe

on two separate zip archives with names file1.zip and file2.zip?

I have many batches in one location and I want compress all files per batch.

Thanks in advance for support.

Best regards,

Piotr,
the sample below will give you some direction

If you need getting the filenames (file1, file2, etc) from exploring the folder, you could do it in a loop as shown

Hello,

I have new problem...

I want to use ZIP+password compression.

I`m read information from compress comand in my Automate Task Builder and...

When i wan`t to create password in zip i have to double click in command, and use option "password protect files".

But automate doesn`t see this command. I try to edit and add command "PASSWORD="pass123"" in notepad but task builder do not work with it.

When I set password option in Visual view I don`t see any changes but when I change view to AML i see command PASSWORD="pass123" (password is encrypted) but it still doesn`t work.

Maybe you see similar problem before?

Thanks in advance for help!

Hi Piotr,

Would it be possible for you to post your task for further review?

Hi Ricardo,

Of course. I`m got main part of this task from person who do not work in my corporation anymore. And unfortunatelly i`m not a very good programer

This task compress my files per batch. But I need to protect them with zip+password and this option doesn`t work.

Hi Piotr,

I was able to zip+password protect the file in AutoMate 6 version 6.2.8.

I would suggest that you test the compress "zip" with a password without variables. (Compress Step Only)

I have provided the sample that worked successfully below.

Let us know how that works for you.

Hello Ricardo,

Hmm, strange thing...i use your code (i`m change only paths) and password still does not work.

Edit:

Hmm, i`m copy task from my computer to our corporate system and everything looks ok, password works. It`s strange because i have on my computer this same OS and this same version of AutoMate like in our corporate servers.

I have one more question - it is posibble to set password using variables?

I want to set password using current date for every day but i don`t know how i can do it.

I check option like in code on below but it do not want to work.

Hi Piotr,

Yes you can set a variable with a password. You will need to type in the variable name wrapped in % manually within the password field.

i.e. %VariableName%
