We recently started using Automate 11 on a Windows Server 2016 system. Previously we were using Automate 9 on Windows Server 2003.

On the new system I noticed the drive space was low. When I ran a scan using a tool called TreeSize Pro I found 43GB worth of files in the recycle bin. I checked the MAX SIZE setting for the recycle bin and it was set to 1024 MB.

We have tasks that use the 'Place in Recycle Bin' option during Delete steps. This was true on the old server as well. The old server conforms to the MAX SIZE setting for the recycle bin and only holds up to the max size amount currently.

Can you confirm if this is some sort of bug with Automate 11 on Server 2016?

I just logged in with the account we use to run Automate tasks and opened the properties of the Recycle Bin, checked the sizes on each volume (made no changes), and then clicked OK. The oldest files were then deleted from the recycle bin and it kept up to the MAX SIZE value amount.

I'll keep an eye on the size going forward to see if it still has this issue.

Hi Paul,

This does not seem to be an issue with Automate as much as there may be an issue with the Recycle Bin. We will do some testing internally to make sure.
