When using AutoMate web actions web page events don't trigger.

For example: Entering value in field manually on web page triggers on change event. However using AutoMate web action set value, AutoMate sets value and doesn't trigger on change event.

Hi Nick,

Please try using the Interactivity actions to set the values in the text field or if that doesn't work, you can use Input actions to send keystrokes.

AutoMate,

Interactivity actions are so unreliable.

I've been requesting improvements to AutoMate to support web actions since version 7 in 2006.

Fast forward 12 years web actions still remain the same no improvements.

Nick,

Automate is putting the text as required in your automation. We cannot control what the web site does with the text once it is added to the field. As Devin suggested, you have an alternative to adding the text to the field to determine if that causes the intended triggering event. Different actions add text differently and therefore this is not considered a defect.

Is this not an area HelpSystems AutoMate product team is pursuing?

I know Automation Anywhere does web automation flawless. The text/drop down/web object is updated and all web events are triggered as if user was keying in the UI. Also the web actions can be executed on locked desktop. No need to sign in.

Hello Nick,

Improvements have been made to our Web Browser and Interactivity actions. If you are running into issue we will need to report them and have those issues corrected.
