In converting another task to v11, I encountered one that failed immediately when trying to run it (in Task Builder). The failure message was Task '<Guid value>' failed with a critical error.

I finally tracked this down to a Task Variable (not a local variable) where the Initial value contained a %

Removing the % (as a test only) eliminated the error and allowed the task to at least start. I then updated the % to %%, and that seemed to work.

v10 did not have this issue. It makes sense to me that I had to use a double-% to correct the problem, and I'm not sure why v10 did not generate the error. So I'm just pointing this out to note the difference of behavior in this from v10 to v11.

Hello James,

You are right it should have failed in v10 as well. We have since the n corrected this in version 11. Thank you for providing this information to us.
