I am finally taking a moment to inquire about something I have noticed in v9, v10 and now v11. It was never a big deal but since I'm updating cases I thought I would go ahead and ask it.

In the System Tray where the Agent runs, when you right-click on the Agent icon you are given 3 options:

Open Server Management Console
Show Running Tasks
About

I often use the Show Running Task to show - of course, the tasks that are running. It is not uncommon to have multiple tasks running concurrently.

That dialog has 3 buttons: End Task, End All and Cancel. I have never found the End Task button to work. And by not work, I mean it is never enabled; it's always grayed out. If I need to end a particular task, I have always had to use End All because the End Task button has never been available.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi James,

What version of Automate are you using 11.0.0, 11.0.1, 11.0.2?
I just tested this in version 11.0.2 and I was able to use the End Task button after selecting one of the tasks in the dialog box and then clicking on End task.
At first the button is grayed out until you select a task in the list.
Please let us know if this helped.

We are running 11.0.1.17

The End Task button never enables for me. It has done this since we started out with v9, it has just never been a high priority.

I created 2 very simple tasks to illustrate the problem, and ran them both at the same time. Regardless of which one I click on, the End Task button stays disabled. See attachment for a screen shot.

Hi James,

I believe we just need to change a setting to enable the option to end the task.

Please open the Server Management Console, go to Options > Default Properties > Execution and check the box for "User can stop this task". This will enable this setting by default, but the setting may be overwritten at the workflow/task level. Please check the individual workflow/task if the option to end the task is still disabled.

Interesting. I would not have really considered that was a factor since the End All button was working. I enabled the option per your instructions and the End Task button is now enabled.
