What is the proper procedure for upgrading from to the latest version?

I'm running Windows 2012 R2 Standard with MS SQL Server 2014.

Hi Barnes,

I would suggest the following to upgrade
1. Uninstall the current installation of Automate 11 from add/remove programs (If you don't check the remove from registry options at the end of the installation, all of your preferences will be saved)
2. Make sure the AutoMate 11 Programs Files folder has been deleted (not sure this is required, just something I am in the habit of doing)
3. Install the latest version

If you want to take a backup of the existing instance you can create a backup within AutoMate SMC by completing the following.
1. Open Task Administrator
2. Select Options
3. Select System Settings
4. Select Backup & Restore

You will have to complete the same process for all agent machines. To my knowledge there is no way to upgrade the agent machines remotely. Hope this helps.

To add to EJ's response, I would also take a backup of your AM database prior to uninstalling and label it with your current version (ie: AMDB_Backup_v110117.bak) in case you have to rollback.
