We are currently experiencing a queuing issue when running a process that is scheduled to run every 15 minutes. At some point the process start queuing up instead of running. As a result, our BPA server start having problem with every running process and the queue keeps incrementing. As a a solution we had to bounce the server or restart the service. We would like to know if running the same process within short periods of times is problematic in Automate

Hi Arturo,

Thank you for your post. Do you have any task or workflow Priorities set up? How much RAM does the OS have?

We don't have any task priorities setup.  We are running Win Server 2003 R2 with 4 CPUs and 3.25 GB of RAM. Thanks for replying.

Hi Arturo,

Please export the workflow and attach the .ampkg file to your reply. We will need to review the properties of the task(s) and workflow in order to troubleshoot further.

The process is simple and uses the same code as other processes:  The task grabs a file from a team shared folder and it transfers the file to a vendor via a secure FTP.  It is scheduled to run daily, every 15 minutes.  The issue only happens with a process running so frequently.  We currently have a lot of active processes and many of them might run at the exact same time.  Given our hardware specifications on the previous post, is there an aproximated limit number of processes that can be run at the exact same time before running into any issues?  We might consider upgrading our server in the near future, but the question is if the frecuency of the processes, the amount of concurrent processes, and the specified hardware configuration has anything to do with processes queing up?

Arturo,

We need the exported workflow in order to troubleshoot the issue further. How is the workflow triggered? Are the files processed individually or through the use of wildcards?
