I have a workflow that contains an embedded workflow. I have created a shared variable in the main (parent) workflow. I tried to set the variable within the embedded workflow so that the parent workflow continue processing depending on the value of the shared variable. It has not worked for me. I have set the variable as a parameter and still not working. Is there a way to do this?

Erich,
There is no built-in possibility for different workflows to share variables between them. If you need passing values from one workflow to another one, you can do it by any means external to Automate, like files or databases or registry entries, or even windows.

Isn't it possible to use global variables for this?

James,
I'm not aware of "global variables". There are "global constants" or "agent constants", but they cannot be modified from within a task, and therefore cannot be used as real "variables".

Ah yes, sorry I meant global constants which isn't quite what is needed here.
Surprised that the product doesn't have global variables.

Hi James,
You can set a constant value to a variable in your task/workflow, you can than manipulate it as needed. Would that work for you.
