Is it possible to use the excel viewer to open a spreadsheet and  read the data only?

Marc,
if you can do that manually, you could certainly simulate the manual actions with Automate to produce the same result. How do you perform it manually ?
I suppose you have Excel viewer on your system, but not the full Excel version.
But for using the data inside the worksheet, the Automate Excel actions will not work, as they are based on using the Excel dll's supposed installed on your system.
You would have to use keystrokes instead to make the necessary select/copy to extract the data.

Hi Marc,

I was able to use the provided steps to copy the entire spreadsheet in Excel Viewer to the clipboard and display it in a dialog, the example presumes that excel files are associated with the viewer application:

Task Steps: (Right click, Select All, Copy to copy to the clipboard. Steps can then be pasted into the AutoMate Task Builder)

Hi there

I think it is difficult to use the excel viewer to open a spreadsheet and  read the data only.i think there should be a specific excel tool which is aimed at these kind of process.
