I have a workflow that fails to completed successfully several times a week. The workflow has 3 components:Schedule, Get & Put and when I hover the mouse pointer over the workflow, an error displays that there was an "undefined variable found in step 98" Does step 98 refer to the step 98 in the first task? In this case, step 98 in the first task is inactive. Any ideas how to debug this or get more information about the error. If I select the workflow and click "RUN", it always executes successfully without an error.

Thanks

Hi Tom,

Have you checked your Execution Events in the Reports section? This should be able to tell you which task is failing or perhaps a little more information.

Leonard, The workflow failed yesterday and I did look in the execution events report and here is what I saw:

HRMC_Affinity_to_Quantros_pat_prod WorkFlow 3/14/2012 11:00:10 PM 3/14/2012 11:02:30 PM 140.162529 Failure Workflow 'HRMC_Affinity_to_Quantros_pat_prod' failed because: A variable in the expression does not exist or is misspelled (Step 98)

Again, I don't know which step is (Step 98) unless it is step 98 in the first task, but that line is not active.

Hi Tom,

What version of Windows are you running and what version of BPA7? Are you able to reproduce this problem frequently? Is it possible to attach your exported workflow to your reply?

Leonard, we are on BPA 7.1.3.0 (build 305111) and our server is Windows 2003, Service Pack 2. We experience this problem several times a week. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to attach the exported workflow. I have the ampkg file saved on my laptop, but my efforts to attach the file have failed.

Tom,

When you go to reply to this post, you should see an Attachments section that will allow you to browse to the .ampkg file.

Tom,
it is impossible to attach ampkg files in this forum. You should either rename it to txt or zip it before attaching it.
