HI all,,,
Can anyone help me with a simple task to:- Run an application, then get a screendump from the application and later on save it on paint with a specific name and foldeR??? I was asked by a client to get him a screendump of the last 24 hours update of a vessel from Google Earth.. Problem is,the daily report that i created does not contain any images,so i need to get an image from Google Earth and sent it to the client with an email together with the report.. Any idea??or suggestion???a sample task would be highly appreciated...

Hello,
Will the application that you need Automate to run take get the screendump from Google Earth? Have you created any parts of the task so far? If so can you post it?

Hi Ricardo..
I would like automate to take the screendump of Google Earth,, Here is how it goes.. 1.A raw data will be created in .KML file. 2.then the .KML file will be open in Google Earth. 3.Later on,automate would have to take a screendump of what is showing in Google Earth 4.Paste into paint 5.save it.. Currently,i managed to get automate to take screendump but failed to get it to paste into paint and save it.. Kindly please advise.. here i attached the code..
Task Steps: (Right click, Select All, Copy to copy to the clipboard. Steps can then be pasted into the AutoMate Task Builder) |

Hi,
It seems that within Google Earth you are able to directly email the image or save the image as a .jpeg. Would this be a viable option rather then copy/pasting into Paint? These options are under the File Menu in Google Earth. You can send keystrokes to the Menu --> Alt F (to get to File).

Hi Liz..
thanks for the reply.. I am aware of the facts that Google Earth have the option needed..but,i still need to know why i cant use automate to save it on paint.. Please advise on whether my step above is not correct or any other problem,as this could well be implement to other projects that do not have such option as Google Earth..

Hello,
It looks like {CTRL}V does not paste the print screen but interacting with Paint will allow you to Paste. For example, I sent the keystrokes for the print screen then the following steps were: 1. Run Paint 2. Wait for Window (Paint) 3. Focus Window (Paint) 4. Press action to press the "Paste" button in Paint So this method works but you may not use the same exact steps as I did depending on what version of Paint you have. If you open Paint and press ALT you will likely see the Menu as well which would allow you to paste.
