When I start the AutoMate 7 Task Administrator, I see the message "Problem reading folder/task data:" I don't see any folders or tasks that were previously visible. Prior to today, I hadn't logged on to the Task Admin for some days or weeks, so I'm not sure when the problem began or how. I found an earlier thread in the forums here that suggest the problem is caused by a corrupted .atl file. Is there any way to fix or recover from this situation? |

Hi Kevin,
Have you taken a look at your ATL file? Chances are it has a problem, either zero-byte or some corruption. You might be able to edit out the corruption bit that depends as each case is diffierent. If you want you can also attach your ATL file to a reply and we can take a look at it for you. If you have backed up the ATL then you can restore it. You can also start out with an empty but intact new ATL file if you dont mind starting the task list over again from scratch. To do so, you can stop the AutoMate 7 service, delete or rename your ATL file, then restart the service. This will give you an empty ATL file. You can put your tasks back by moving them from the Managed Tasks Location and then import the tasks back in by dragging them all from the moved location to the Task Administrator. This would not preserve any triggers but if the ATL was damaged then they would be gone in either case. ------------------------- - Rick Johnson Network Automation |

Hi Rick, I looked at the atl file and, even though I've never seen an atl file before, nothing seemed obviously wrong. I started from scratch with a new atl file and that seemed to have worked. We only have a handful of tasks so it wasn't too cumbersome. Thanks, Kevin
