EDIT: See update at bottom of post.

OK, I am in a bit of a bind here. I am migrating a setup from Windows Server 2003 x86 platform over to an identical setup but on Windows 2008 R2 x64. The problem is that when I try to execute tasks with Background User or Specified User settings AM crashes, the services dies and I am disconnected from the Local Task Administrator. The specified account is a local administrator on the machine. I tried installing a new clean Windows 2008 R2 x64 with AM6 and the behaviour is the same so config problems in production is ruled out.

AM version is 6.2.8.0.

I have turned off UAC, excluded the AM executables from the DEP and tried compatability mode etc. and nothing works.

Is AM6 simply not compatible with Windows 2008 R2 x64 ?

EDIT:
OK. Some progress.
1. I noticed on the Login tab of the task properties that it sais that logging in on a locked workstation etc. as another user was not supported on Vista, and by that I also assume Windows 2008 R2 x64 is included in that. It did not mention Background User specifically but I can guess they fall under the same circumstance.
2. It works if all AM executable files have Compability Mode set of "All users" to Windows Server 2003 SP1.

Christoffer,

You state that you have v6.2.8.0 installed but the error messages are reflecting a different version altogether. AM6 is not supported in Vista, 2008, or 7 operating systems though it can still be installed and function properly. It will not have the logon or unlock capability though. Also, AM6 does not have elevated functionality like our newer versions and that could cause problems as well. Please upgrade to v6.2.8.0 and let me know if the problem persists.

Thanks for your reply Leonard. I figured as much and we just did a flash-upgrade to AutoMate 9 Professional and most of the stuff appears to be working... 300 jobs and a new installation done in 2 hours, I am a little bit impressed by myself.

Thanks for your time though!
