I have a task I created to download "*" from an FTP site. I have configured the errors settings on the download step to ignore when a file is not present on the server or nothing was downloaded. I then proceed to do a delete command. I have set the error settings on the delete step the same however, if a file is not present in the folder it will give an error because nothing was deleted. I get the same result if I specify a file name. As long as the file is present on the remote end there are no errors. I see other error notification options such as "No files were renamed" but I do not see a "No files were deleted" that I can set to ignore. Please find a copy of the task attached.

Thanks ON AIR.

Hello,

I would suggest that you setup an If statement. If that file exist --> Process, If not End Task gracefully.

Let us know if that works for you.

I thought of an "if" statement however will that work on the FTP server? Or just locally which is what I believe. What if I do not know the file and use the wildcard to download. There the only other option I could see is looping thru a a set of files on a local directory.

Do we know if not having the option to ignore errors when a file is not there to delete is a bug or defect?

Hello,

I would suggest you use the Get Long List action that will populate a dataset with the file list. You can then add the IF statement within the loop.

(Sample Get Long List)
FTP - Loop Folder List

Let us know if that works for you.

Thanks for the loop folder list I will test that.

Hello,

In the "Error Causes" tab I do see the option to Ignore "File does not exist" error.

Do you see this option?

Hi Ricardo,

That is one of the options I selected task. I have "All except selected" for error handling and chose "File does not exist". After testing and getting the error I then also selected "No files were downloaded" but I did not see a "No files were deleted" as an option. I even tried "File not exist at destination".

Hello,

I can confirm that this is an issue with AutoMate 8 v8.0.1. This issue was corrected in AutoMate 9.

I do apologize for the inconvenience.
