Which certificate store is being used by Automate8 for https and webservices connections ? The windows/IE/IIS, mozilla, java, its own ?

And the HTTPS function allows to ignore invalid host certificates, though the webservices do not seem to have such a parameter. How to tell AM8, to ignore a (potentially) invalid host certificate (at least for testing purposes) ?

Is there a "backoffice" setting connection, between what is configure for HTTPS functions and the webservices ? Ie, when a specific setting is created in HTTPS, would this also apply to webservices ?

Hello,

Unfortunately you will not be able to do so using the Web Service action. We have gone ahead and added a feature request on your behalf (22047). I would suggest that you use the HTTP Post action as a workaround. I apologize fore the inconvenience.

Thanks, Apologies for the late reaction back.

The FR is for the "ignore certificate validity" ?

Can you tell me about the certificate store being used ? Just the windows one ?

And some more questions:

- Where to find the (very low level) debug logging, ie the "conclusions", the ssl library makes about setting up the encrypted connection. For example, when there is a non-match in ciphers between host and AM8 ? How to find out about these details (apart from a very general "failed to create TLS/SSL connection") ?

- Which connection types does AM8 (potentially AM10) support ? SSLVx, TLS1, TLS1.1, TLS1.2 ? How to select on this ? Registry entries ?

- Regarding SHA1/SHA2, what is being supported by AM8 (AM10) for https / webservices ?

- Same SHA1/SHA2, what is being supported by AM8 (AM10) for sftp connections ?

- Regarding webservices, when only a client-side certificate is required for login (so no u/p), will AM8 (AM10) handle this ? (Yeah, stupid, though gov setup).

Thanks !

Thx, looking (very much) forward to the answers.

Given the significantly increased attention to these security aspects, I do think, more customers would be interested to get these questions answered and the these specification clearly defined.

Well, as most discussions in this forum, just ends with "standby" or "send to helpdesk" ... not very helpful.

Martin,

The certificate store being used is Windows. Unfortunately, the Web Service action does not have functionality to ignore invalid certificates. In newer versions, you do have the ability to ignore warnings.
