we have a .csv file that contains a row(s) that needs to be removed. in the row of data is a field: altempnum ... we have identified that altempnum in a sql table.

so what is the most effecient way to remove that row of data? do we need to do a preceding loop that removes it from the .csv before it gets into the dataset, or is there a good way to pull it out of the dataset?

The solution seems to be coding a WHERE clause in the SQL query.
If you want to eliminate a row where the field named 'altempnum' has a given value,
SELECT * FROM thetable WHERE altempnum != 'thatvalue'
would do it. This way that row will not appear in the resulting dataset
Does this do it for you ?
