This Question is for Jean -

Attached is the your code for sorting names based on First, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Suffix. On testing the code I ran into 1 glitch with the following Name:

James R Hardt-Luck

vFirst: James
vMid:
vLast: Hardt
vSuf:

The -Luck is truncated off. Any way to modify the code so the

VLast: Hardt-Luck

???

Thank for your time Jean.

James

Instead of looking for 2 or more letters ' \w{2,} 'for the last name,
I had to change to two or more 'non spaces' ' [^\s]{2,} '
that will also allow O'Brien
But it now may recognize a number or special characters as/inside a last name, like in 'James B 007'
It is always a problem to detect items whose syntax rules are not exhaustively defined.

Hi Jean - This a really old post, but I ran into one other name issue and just wanted to see your thoughts. It is with a name like:

John W De La Cruz

vFirst: John
vMid: W
vLast: De
vSuf: Cruz

Rosalinda De La Cruz

vFirst: Rosalinda
vMid:
vLast: De
vSuf: Cruz

Any chance of a code modification to catch this? Thank you for your time. James

Hello,

Would it be possible to set-up a GoToAssist session where we can take a closer look at this issue? If this is possible please send an email over to AutoMate.Support@helpsystems.com with a list of your availability.

Note: Please reference this forum thread in your email.
