![]() Answer: Hi Norm, AM9 does not have the ability to add a password to an Excel spreadsheet. Our upcoming release of v10 will have that functionality. In the meantime, you can use our Interactivity actions/activities to add the password through Excel or you can use our Compression action to compress and password protect the file. | ||||||||||

I have created a task that creates a new Excel workbook, writes the contents of a dataset to the workbook, closes the workbook, then emails the workbook as an attachment. This workbook will contain sensitive information that needs to be password protected before sending. I can find lots of topics regarding opening password protected workbooks, but have not found one regarding creating a password protected workbook. Any suggestions?

NormalAlbertson,
I would suggest opening Excel going to the help feature and typing 'password'. Irregardless of the version of Microsoft Office being used there will be detailed steps on how to password protect a workbook.

Hello Flowers,
Unfortunately in 9 there is no way to password protect Excel Sheets. This is something that will be available in version 10. If you get prompted to enter a password, we can use interactivity to enter that password into the password field.
