Hi AUTOMATE colleagues,

I am trying to do the following but I am having difficulties finding the right commands in the frontend UI of AUOTMATE 9.

Here is what I want to do:

  1. go to a specific folder
  2. locate specific file or files based on the folowing criteria

a) file name like 'xyz'

b) file extension like .csv or .txt

b) most recent file or files

Automate version: 9.0.4.5

Windows 7 Enterprise & SP1

Thanks,

Keith

Hello Keith,

We recommend reviewing the sample tasks that come with the software, specifically the "file management" samples. These include many examples of file movement, manipulation, etc.... which will illustrate which actions are being used to accomplish these actions. One that is recommended is the sample task: "If file is older", this will show you how to find a file based on its date/time.

Here is more information, which can be viewed in the help file, that will help you with the actions as well:

http://www.networkautomation.c.../action_Move_file.htm

http://www.networkautomation.c...ns/File/Copy_file.htm

http://www.networkautomation.c...on_if_file_exists.htm

Please let us know if we may answer any additional questions or concerns.

Thanks!
