Is it possible to change the file creation date using some action/function? I haven't been able to find any way...

EDIT:
I am able to change it manually in my file manager. However, I have several hundred files that I need to change (to different dates) so I would need to automate it.

Hi Erik,

You can use the File System Touch action to change the modified and creation times for files. The example below will change a sample file's creation date to 24 hours prior to the current time.

Thanks Justin! I missed the Touch activity (it is called attributes in my file manager).

I also wonder; If I have a file, lets say "c:\Sample\Sample_file.txt", I can extract the extension (using the Get Information activity). However, how do I extract the filename w/o the extension, e.g. "c:\Sample\Sample_file" (or "sample_file")?

EDIT:
What I am doing now is to extract the extension and then removing it from the file name using Trim text. Maybe that is the only way?

Hi Erik,

The example you provided, c:\Sample\Sample_file.txt, you can use the extract file path extended action to get just the filename, and then the split function based on the period, to get the the filename without the extension.

I have attached an example of this below.
