Just curious here, if I use a trigger to monitor an sftp or folder that looks for newly placed files every 10 or 30 seconds, is it possible for automate to reset the trigger for the next day once the files are found? I need to monitor until the files are found in a folder or on an sftp.

By the sound of it, it sounds like you set up a Schedule Trigger and used the Task builder to monitor a specific folder. Or did you set up a File System trigger ?

So far, I have split the task in two. one for the sftp to monitor for new files every 30 minutes using:File Sytem, and the second is our process to checks the folder for new drops every hour using: File System. it seems to be working just fine, but i would like to be able to reset the triggers to start the next day if possible.

Hi Wilhelm,
It is not possible to have the task reset the trigger. However you can make use of a date stamped marker file to prevent the task from running the steps. The example steps below will first clear the marker file for the previous day if it exists. Then it will look for a marker file for the current day. If the file does not exist, it will then run the steps for the task and create the current day's marker file. This will prevent the steps from executing the next time the task runs that day.
Task Steps: (Right click, Select All, Copy to copy to the clipboard. Steps can then be pasted into the AutoMate Task Builder) ------------------------- ![]() Justin Aucoin | Support Analyst AutoMate | Division of HelpSystems HelpSystems, LLC | T: +1.213.738.1700 | F: +1.213.738.7665 |

A very nice approach. I will play around with this and see if it resolves my issue. Thank you kindly for your time.
