I need to get to our FTP site via a web browser and log into it. I have tried several ways to get to our site and login, but it does not format correctly. I am using this, <AMBROWSER URL="ftp://testvse_ftp.ntserv.doitbestcorp.com/" SESSION="BrowserSession2" /> It changes it to this in the web browser http://ftp//testvse_ftp.ntserv.doitbestcorp.com/ and of course this does not work. How can I fix it. I've tried going to a www.doitbest.com first and navigating to the ftp site which takes me there, but then I cannot log in. Is there any way to do this via a web browser?

Hi Mary,
The URL you are using indicates that this is a normal FTP site. So you should be using the FTP actions (with the right parameters) for this. When calling this URL in your browser, all your browser is doing is emulating a FTP Client, which is the same thing AutoMate does with the FTP action. Regards, Benjamin

I'm trying to replicate a process/program we are currently using. It opens the ftp site, and then selects each directory to make sure it is functioning correctly. I had created a task to use the FTP action and then change to each folder to check to see if it is available. A short example is below is this correct? It runs correctly, I just don't know if it is really checking to see if the folder is accessible. <AMVARIABLE NAME="varErrorStep"> </AMVARIABLE>

Hi Mary,
Normally this will work and give an error if the folder is not available. However on some antiquated mainframes the directory is always valid. The best way to test this is by trying to change to a folder that you know does not exist: If this doesn't give you an error you are going to have to try to find out if the directory is real by some other means (uploading a test file for example) Regards, Benjamin

I have some in my 'big' list that I know do not exist in test. So I'll run it again and see what happens. I'm setting a variable so that I know what step I'm failing on.
