How comes that that step in the install takes so long and is freezing the computer for minutes ?
Windows updates nor other installs never take that long.

Jean,

The "optimizing" stage of the installer runs a program called NGEN, which precompiles the binaries so they don't have to be Just-In-Time (JIT) compiled every time you start the app. It saves a few seconds every time you start it and also saves a ton of memory. Any .NET application that runs NGEN against its binaries during install will take longer during the optimization stage and may take a huge chunk of CPU cycles until it is complete.
