I tried to do a search using the phrase, 'not an object reference'. I received an error that said, 'Your search contained ignored words, ignored words are words like a,and,to,between. Please re-construct your search without these ignored words.'
It didn't ignore the words, it ignored the entire search! If the program is smart enough for this message, can't it return the results of the search for all the words that weren't ignored? ------------------------- Michael ![]() |

same as I search on 'too few parameters'.
The actual error, while executing a SQL statement on a XLS file should have been: 'incorrect column name'.

I understand that the search features will be greatly improved in the next update for the forums software.
That ignored words thing bothers me as well. ------------------------- Dustin Snell |

At the very least, Dustin, could we get a listing of what the
ignored words are? I've run into a number of different cases where
I get this "error". Even though I obviously think it could be
improved, I'd be willing to at least strip out the disallowed words
myself and resubmit, except it doesn't tell me what triggered the
error. At the moment, however, it just gives a couple
examples, which doesn't really help much.

No - the 3rd party software that we use for our forums system has this hard coded. I think this problem will fix itself when we update to the new version within the next month or so. If not, after that point we will take the matter up with the developer to get a resultion. Until the fix, thanks for your patience.
