Answer:
I got support from HelpSystems today, and he found that cipher setting need to be customized. Thanks to the Devin

Unfortunately, our AutoMate version is not latest version and it could not "Auto adjust" for some cipher algorithms.

Anyway, my issue was solved.

Hello,

I'm having issue with SFTP connection and I need help!

Task log shows "FTP failed (Error : Connection lost (error code is 10058))" but, I can logon to the SFTP server with WinSCP without problem on same server where AutoMate installed.

Our AutoMate have several SFTP connection setting tasks, but I found this issue first time.

Is AutoMate able to handle special character in the user and/or password?
Some thread/topic mentioned if "%" was used in ID or password, so I wonder.

Thanks and best regards,

Hello,

Special characters shouldn't be an issue outside of the %. % is used for variables and constants (i.e. %VariableName%).

If you want to use a literal % you will need to double it up. (i.e. if your password is a%b then you will need to setup AutoMate like this a%%b).

Hi Ricardo,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Noted that special character won't be a problem (except %).
Actually, "#" is used in password.
So, what the reason of this error???

By the way, I have attached FTP session log [FTP session log.xlsx].
It contains successful connection (SFTP site #1) and failed connection (SFTP site #2)
Please kindly find attached.

Thanks and best regards,
Tetsuya

I have another question/thought.

Does AutoMate 10 SFTP logon able to accept 4096 bit Server host key fingerprint?
Not sure if it's a case though....

Thanks and best regards,

Hello,

Would it be possible to set-up a GoToAssist session where we can take a closer look at this issue? If this is possible please send an email over to AutoMate.Support@helpsystems.com with a list of your availability.

Note: Please reference this forum thread in your email.

Hi Ricardo,

Even we are facing the issue with automate 10.5.0.56. We are able to connect to our client server using FTP but it failed while we use SFTP connection.

Here is the message. (Error : Connection lost (error code is 10058)).

Can you help with "Cipher" connection to fix this issue( as it was fixed for TetsuyaOka).

Hello AppadukumarPadala,

About "Cipher" connection, that is actually you may need to configure manually at
"Cipher Selection" under FTP logon action.

In my case, "Auto Adjust" did not worked somehow, but custom setting fixed my issue.

In custom setting, it requires Encryption algorithms, MAC algorithms, Key-Exchange algorithms, Public key algorithms, but I guess you can get those information by asking FTP server admin or you may able to get those information with SFTP client log.

Best regards,

Hi TetsuyaOka,

Thanks for your reply with helpful information.

We tried with custom Cipher options, which didn't worked out.

Filezilla debug logs shows AES-256 SDCTR was the encryption algorithm used by our client FTP server, which is not supported by automate at this time(Confirmed by Automate support).

So we are currently using a 3rd party FTP utility (WinSCP) to connect to that server.

Hi, AppadukumarPadala,

We are running into these same issues.

I see that you solved your issue by using WinSCP. I was curious - are you using WinSCP through Automate or in some other way?
