Hi,

There are about 15000 .cst files in the folder C:\ProgramData\AutoMate\AutoMate BPA Agent 10
What purpose do they serve?
Why aren't these cleaned?
Can these safely be deleted?

Thanks!

Hi Naftali,

These are temporary files that the agent executes against when executing tasks assigned to it. They should be deleted after execution has completed. What version of v10 are you running and on what version of Windows? Also, is the Agent service running as local system?

It is safe to delete these files.

Hi Leonard,

This is BPA 10.3.0.13 running on Windows 2012 R2
The agent is indeed running as the local system.

For now I've deleted these files, I'll let you know if they re-appear.

Thanks

Hi Leonard,

There are now nearly 7000 of those files in that folder again...
What can we do about this?

Thanks

Hello,

Please delete those files manually for now.

Can you please confirm your setup of BPA? Are all 3 components installed on the same machine or do you have them separated?

I have this same issue.
Almost 300 files in a couple of minutes.
At the same time I had the error '... failed because: the agent is not connected'.

I restarted the agent service, after that the files stopped coming.

Hi Edward,

Please confirm the following; What version of v10 are you running and on what version of Windows? Also, is the Agent service running as local system?

Again I do have many .cst files.
We are running 11.02.22 on Windows server 2012.

I created a task to remove them, but why aren't they removed automatically.
There is a new file every few minutes.

Hello Edward,

Yes, they should be removed automatically. Is the AutoMate Agent service running as a local system account? If not, please switch to local sys and let us know if the issue continues.
