The schedule trigger intervals are actual elapsed time as opposed to clock adjustments. The interval is derived from the Next Launch Date set during trigger creation.
Second(s) - seconds interval Minute(s) - minutes interval Hour(s) - hours interval Day(s) - 24 hours interval Specific Days of the Week - weekly interval Specific Days of the Month - monthly interval Most users have been using the Day(s) interval to schedule a task/workflow to execute daily at a specific time. However, because the Day(s) interval can be affected by (*DT) and (*ST) adjustments, the recommended interval is Specific Days of the Week. Let's use the following example: Building a schedule trigger to run every day at 1:00am. DAY(S): - Set the Interval to Day(s). - Set the Next Launch Date to the next day at 1:00am. The first triggering event will be the next day at 1:00am based on the Next Launch Date. All subsequent triggering events will be based on a 24 hour interval from the initial launch date and time. But, because this is actual elapsed time, the 1:00am schedule will change to 12:00am on (*ST) clock adjustments of -1 hour and 2:00am on (*DT) clock adjustments. 24 actual hours have to elapse between each triggering event. Because of this, all triggers will have to be updated manually to reflect 1:00am again after these 2 clock adjustments. SPECIFIC DAYS OF THE WEEK: - Set the interval to Specific Days of the Week and select Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. - Set the Next Launch Date to the next day at 1:00am. The first triggering event will be the next day at 1:00am based on the Next Launch Date. All subsequent triggering events will be based on a weekly specified day interval from the initial launch date and time. This is not based on an hourly, or less interval, and now only needs to triggers Monday through Sunday on a weekly interval. When (*ST) or (*DT) clock adjustment occur, it will not affect the weekly interval because the trigger is monitoring for the day of the week and a specific time. If the intention if to trigger at a specific time every day, it is recommended that Specific Days of the Week is used instead of Day(s) as the interval. ------------------------- ![]() Leonard Amabile | Director, Cross Platform Support AutoMate | InterMapper | Skybot | Divisions of HelpSystems T: +1.213.738.1700 | F: +1.213.738.7665 Edited: 10/25/2017 at 02:11 PM by Leonard Amabile |
