BPA / Automate Enterprise utilizes the LDAP protocol to authenticate through AD to validate user name and password credentials only. There are no additional security or access settings that can be applied at the AD level that affect the user's accessibility to the application. All users need to be created within BPA / Automate Enterprise regardless of AD authentication.
An AD user does not require a password to be created within the application. User name and password is validated through AD. All other users created within the application requires a password to be specified.
In order for the user of authenticate to the appropriate domain controllers, the AD user needs to be created in the following format: domain\user
